Recreational facilities in Queen Anne County include Blue Heron Golf Course, Cross Island Trail (Terrapin Nature Park, Wells Cove, Kent Narrows, Chesapeake Exploration Center), Conquest Beach at Conquest Preserve, Price Creek Environmental Area/Nemo Equestrian Trail, Seasonal Outdoor Pools (Castle Harbor Marina, Granata Pool, Franklin Pool, Kent Island Yacht Club, Kennersley Marine Center, Doub Pool, Schiwy Pool, Gannon Pool), and 10 parks. The parks collectively feature athletic fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, grills, picnic benches, pavilions, concession stands, ponds, volleyball, basketball & tennis courts (some lighted), horseshoe pits, walking trails, portable toilets (provided April to October in some parks, year round in others). Some parks have indoor restroom facilities. Leashed pets are allowed in the parks, which are generally open from dawn to dusk, and range in size from less than an acre to 300 acres. Features unique to specific parks include an in-line skating ring at Batts Neck Park, dinosaur playground equipment at Long Point Park, swimming beach for dogs at Matapeake Park (dog must be under owner's voice command control), a gazebo and a wheelchair-accessible boardwalk at Terrapin Nature Park. Church Hill Park, the county's newest, has an arboretum atmosphere, displaying hundreds of trees and plants. Price Creek Environmental Area/ Nemo Equestrian Trail feature a riding trail that borders an environmentally protected area adjacent to Price Creek. Chesapeake Exploration Center in Chester, which serves as Queen Anne's County official welcome center and the central hub for the Cross Island Trail, features a new, interactive, hands-on exhibit called Our Chesapeake Legacy. Conquest Beach at Conquest Preserve (By Reservation Only) offers facilities for occasions such as weddings or family reunions. Future plans for Conquest Beach at Conquest Preserve include construction of extensive gardens, a working farm, a museum, a nursery for the County, extensive trails and a conference facility. Cross Island Trail amenities include railheads, hotel, visitor info, library, food, phone, restrooms, water, parking, and a dog park.18-hole Blue Heron Golf Course offers junior golf instruction, clinics and camps (ages 5-14) during the last week of July, a High School Golf Camp (ages 13-17) during the first week of August, a Ladies Golf League (mid-April through mid-October), Private Golf Lessons, and a Pro Shop & Snack Bar. Recreation classes are offered for all ages. Preschoolers can participate in "Dancing Princesses" dance camp at the Kramer Center in Centreville, Summer Tots recreational activities at Historic Christ Church in Stevensville, Tiny Tots Preschool at Historic Christ Church, Tot Fun Time at Kent Narrows Center, and Rumble Tumble Tots (Tumbling) at Kent Narrows Center. Hotbed Lacrosse Camp, held at Kent Island High School, is for children ages 8-15. Classes and activities for school age children include Tetrabrazil Soccer Academy Camp, Volleyball Camp, Field Hockey League, Summer Tennis Lessons, Tumbling, Wetland Survivor (1-day competition), Dance Camps, and Techno Tap Dance Class. Challenger British Soccer Camps have summer camp programs for children ages 3-16 at Love Point, Centreville & Church Hill. First Serve Tennis Academy offers summer camps for children ages 3-13 at Kent Island and Centreville. Spirit Unlimited offers a Cheer and Dance Camp for ages 5-17 at Centreville and Matapeake middle schools. High School programs include Tetrabrazil Soccer Academy-Advanced High School Clinic, High School Volleyball Camp and Summer Travel Field Hockey League (gr. 8-11, games at Schutte Park in Dover). Adult classes and activities include a Walking Program at Queen Anne’s County High School, a Yoga Basics class, and pet obedience classes (Hollywood Hounds & Good Puppy Social Club-puppies ages 10-18 weeks). A Boater Safety program introduces boating safety procedures and devices; rules of the road; basic navigation concepts and navigation aids; and emergency procedures for first time boaters ages 10 & up. The American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim program is offered for all ages during the summer at Castle Harbor Marina, Granata Pool, Franklin Pool & Kent Island Yacht Club, Kennersley Marine Center, Doub Pool, Schiwy Pool, and Gannon Pool. Private sports leagues & organizations include Sudlersville Girls Lacrosse Association, Kent Island Youth Lacrosse, Bayshore Soccer Club, QAC Independent Soccer Club, Kent Island Youth Soccer, Chesapeake Bay Wrestling, Kent Island Flag Football Club, Youth Football- UQA Lions, Queen Anne's Baseball-Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Baseball, Kent Island Youth Baseball & Softball Club (KIYBSC), and Queen Anne's County Sport Alliance.

 

 

Centreville Recreation: Queen Anne County Parks and Recreation

Recreation facilities in Centreville include Millstream Park, which features a basketball court, seasonal Farmers Market, and Miniature Train. A variety of county-run recreation programs meet at various facilities in Centreville, such as the Kramer Center.
