Recreational facilities in King George County include King George County Tennis Center 8426 Dahlgren Rd (daytime use); King George High School 8426 Dahlgren Rd (Gym & Tennis Courts, after 6 PM M-F, Sat/Sun), King George Middle School, 8562 Dahlgren Rd (Gym after 6 PM M-F, Sat/Sun), Potomac Elementary School 16495 15th St (Gym & Outdoors after 6 PM M-F, Sat/Sun); King George Elementary School 10381 Ridge Rd (Gym, Cafeteria & Outdoors after 6 PM M-F, Sat/Sun); Old King George Elementary School 9100 St Anthony's Rd (Gym, & Old Cafeteria any time, subject to availability); Sealston Elementary School 11048 Fletchers Chapel Rd (Gym & Outdoors after 6 PM M-F, Sat/Sun); Slater Farm (appt only, call Parks & Recreation Dept for further info), Wayside Park, Barnesfield Park, Wilmont Landing, Citizens Center, and Sealston Park. 10 acre Wayside Park, Rte. 31 at Nice Memorial Bridge, features picnic tables, grills, 100 yards of beach, and limited parking. 150 acre Barnesfield Park on Rte. 31 (1 mile from Nice Memorial Bridge) offers picnic shelters, baseball/softball fields, Little League field, multipurpose fields, outdoor basketball courts, and a fitness loop. Sealston Park, 11048 Fletchers Chapel Rd, currently features baseball/softball fields and a multipurpose field; future plans call for a multipurpose court, restroom/concession facility and lighting for baseball/softball fields. Wilmont Landing, on Wilmont Rd off Rollins Fork Rd, provides public boat access to Rappahannock River, with very limited parking. Citizens Center houses the Parks/Recreation Office, features a conference room, banquet room, kitchen, sand volleyball court, playground, and picnic tables; and hosts a senior program through the Rappahannock Area Agency of Aging (T-TH AM) as well as general recreational programs, such as toddler/preschool activities, youth recreation classes, youth & adult athletic leagues, martial arts, fitness, dance, arts/crafts, adult workshops, bus tours, licensed before and after school care programs, and summer camps. Special Events include a Flea/Craft Market, Family Fun Nights, Kite Fly, Eggstravaganza, Spring Fling, Fishing Derby, Winter Activity Series at Caledon Natural Area, Tours 4 Fun Weekly Day Trips to sites of interest in Washington DC, Charlestown Races, Williamsburg (Shopping), Delaware Park Horse Races, Green Valley Book Fair, St. Mary's City, and historic Staunton VA; and overnight trips to Atlantic City; Savannah, Jekyll Island & Beaufort, Vermont, Biltmore Estate/Asheville NC. The Therapeutic Program offers Special Olympics (soccer, basketball, track/field). Outdoor programs include the Winter Nature series and the Earth Day celebration.
