More than 100 parks and other recreational facilities serve residents of Harford County. The parks collectively feature multi-purpose indoor recreation centers, playgrounds, pavilions, picnic tables/areas, restrooms/port-a-pots, walking paths, sports courts (tennis, basketball, volleyball, multi-use), athletic fields/diamonds (football, soccer, lacrosse, baseball, softball, little league), skateboard/rollerblade facilities, batting cages, pitching tunnels, boat launches, piers, fishing areas/ponds, and undeveloped/natural areas. The Ma & Pa Dog Park, at the head of the Ma & Pa Trail in Bel Air, offers a fenced-in, off-leash area with separate facilities for large and small dogs, a gazebo for shade, a doggie water fountain, benches and picnic tables. A variety of recreation programs are offered for all ages. Above and Beyond Adventure Programs Ropes Courses/Climbing Wall is available to youth & adults. Aberdeen Board of Parks & Recreation maintains seven parks in Aberdeen and provides a variety of recreational programs. The parks collectively feature Soccer/Lacrosse Fields, Football Fields, Ball Diamonds, Multi-Use Courts, Playgrounds, Pavilions, Picnic Areas/Tables, Picnic Grills, Undeveloped/Natural Areas (including open space for active & passive activities), and Restrooms/Port-A-Pots. Some facilities and areas, including the Community Services Building, are handicapped accessible. 2.9 acre Aberdeen Festival Park, Howard & Franklin Streets, 410-272-1600, features a walking path (fitness trail) and hosts picnics, concerts (410-939-6767), festivals and other open-air activities; Aberdeen Middle School Multi-Purpose room is a rain location for summer concerts. 3-acre DeMarco Memorial Park, Aberdeen Throughway, 410-272-1600, houses a multi-purpose indoor facility. 10.8-acre North Deen Park Center, Deen Ave, 410-272-1600, also features an in-line hockey court, and skateboarding area. 6.9-acre Victory Street Park, Victory Street, 410-272-1600, offers basketball courts that are available for other uses as well. 240 acre Mullins Park, Old Post Road, 410-939-6767; and  3-acre Swan Meadows, East Bel Air Avenue & Ryland Drive, 410-272-1600; are both undeveloped. The Community Services Building, Howard & Franklin Streets, 410-939-6767, is a former three-story elementary school that houses offices for Harford County Health Department; WIC (Women, Infant & Children Program), Headstart Program, PIC (Susquehanna Region Private Industry Council); Veterans Office (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome), YWCA Family Support Center, and Harford Community College Programs; hosts a variety of recreation programs; and features meeting rooms, restrooms, storage, offices, and parking. Aberdeen Board of Parks & Recreation, with a main office at the facility on Philadelphia Blvd, and a secondary office at Swan Harbor Farm, 401 Oakington Road in Havre de Grace, 410-939-6767, offers recreation programs for all ages. Youth sports include T-Ball, Baseball, Softball, Basketball (410-272-7558), Soccer (410-272-4510 or 410-939-6767), Tackle Football, Tennis, Track & Field, Cheerleading (for basketball games), Gymnastics (410-836-2080), and Wrestling. Youth sports program and martial arts class locations include Aberdeen's public schools (elementary, middle & high).The weightlifting program (410-688-0235) is available for individuals age 16 & up. Dance classes (Ballet & Tap) are offered for age 4 through adult; youth ages 4-17 can participate in Pointe & Line classes, jazz dance is available for ages 8-17 (410-273-6448). Martial Arts programs are offered for all ages; children under age 8 can attend Tae Kwon Do (410-272-4123) with a parent registered as the student, Aikido (410-272-1706) is offered for age 10 through adult, and a Martial Arts Unlimited program (410-272-8808) is available for ages 8+. North Bay Rugby Club welcomes players age 8 & up. 11.2-acre Aberdeen Family Swim Center, Old Robin Hood Road, offers recreational, fitness, and instructional swimming; a youth camp operates during the summer. The City of Aberdeen, 410-272-1600, owns the facility and programs for it through the Aberdeen recreation council; the YMCA, 410-272-4855, manages the swim center. Harford County Community Services Building hosts a free chess club for adults of all skill levels, age 18 & up; the club meets on Thursday evenings. The Senior Center offers bus trips, social events, picnics, games, music, crafts, sing-a-long, exercises & lunches. Recreational facilities in Bel Air include nearly 2 dozen parks and other facilities, several of which are city owned and operated. The parks and other facilities collectively feature Undeveloped/Natural Areas, Playgrounds, Picnic Areas, Basketball, Tennis & Multi-Use Courts, Ball Diamonds (Baseball, Softball), Football/Soccer/Lacrosse Fields, Fitness Trails, Pavilions, and Restrooms/Port-A-Pots. 5-acre, Handicapped Accessible Bynum Run Park, 715 Churchville Road, 410-638-3528, features a fishing pier and pond, gazebo, picnic tables & grills, and a park & ride shuttle. Cedar Lane Park features full size football, soccer, lacrosse, and field hockey fields; a 1.5 mile walking trail; and a 1,000 car parking lot. 3.9 acre Emmorton Recreation and Tennis Center, 2213 Old Emmorton Road, 410-638-3988, houses a multi-purpose indoor facility with tennis courts & multi-purpose courts for basketball, tennis or soccer, a ballet studio, a meeting room, locker rooms; and pitching, batting & catching tunnels (instructors available). 9.9-acre, handicapped accessible, Shamrock Park, Lee Way & Hickory Avenues, 410-638-4561, houses an outdoor stage/amphitheater, and hosts the Bel Air Festival for the Arts, held on the 3rd Sunday in September. The 20-acre Equestrian Center at 84.5 acre Heavenly Waters Park, 608 N. Tollgate Road, 410-638-3528, features equestrian trails; houses two permanent barns, show rings, and open and closed pavilions; and hosts all types of equestrian events, as well as other special events, including antique car shows, flea markets, dog shows, tractor pulls, and the Annual Harford County Farm Fair. Heavenly Waters Park also houses 132 acre Liriodendron, a mansion with surrounding grounds offering meeting rooms and other facilities for exhibitions, lectures, concerts, government, business and civic group meetings, wedding receptions, and other special events; Liriodendron is open to the public on Sunday afternoons from March through mid-December; the Liriodendron Foundation oversees the facility, with office hours Tuesday through Friday. Heavenly Waters Park also includes 1-acre MA & PA Dog Park, 703 N. Tollgate Road, 410-638-3616, an off-leash area with separate facilities for large and small dogs; and MA & PA Heritage Corridor, a 3 mile, stone dust trail/macadam featuring a pavilion for up to 60 people (available to reserve from March 1-Oct. 31). The Corridor's trail and playground are partially/fully accessible (depending on the specific area); the trail has a moderate slope in places, but no obstacles. 1.5 acre Old Fields Park on Moores Mill Road, 410-638-3528, an undeveloped park, is set to be phase III of the MA & PA Heritage Corridor. Lyn Stacie Get Creative Playground, 301 West Ring Factory Road, 410-638-3988, features swings, slides, balance beams, pyramids, ships, and a sand box; this handicapped accessible playground is open daily from dawn until dusk and offers restroom facilities. 10 acre, handicapped accessible McFaul Activities Center, 525 W MacPhail Road, 410-638-3528, houses a skateboarding area, and a multi-purpose indoor facility that provides programs space for the Harford County's Office on Aging, Parks and Recreation, and the Boys and Girls Club of Harford County; activities include arts & crafts, basketball,  volleyball, aerobics, billiards, board and card games, an after school program, yoga, computer training, and fitness/ exercise room. 51-acre, handicapped accessible, Rockfield Park, Route 22, 410-638-4561, houses Rockfield Manor, a historic home available for meetings and special events; and features a variety of gardens. The Town of Bel Air's Bel Air Recreation Committee, with offices at McFaul Activities Center and Edgeley Grove Farm, organize, sponsor and coordinate recreation activities and programs at Rockfield Shamrock, Alice Anne, Bynum Run, Homestead, and Howard Parks; and at Heavenly Waters Park (Kelly Field, MA & PA Heritage Corridor, and Tollgate Park), and Wade Tucker II Memorial Fields.
