The Everett Parks
and Recreation Department provides approximately 1,600 acres of regional and
water front parks, trails, playgrounds, and environmental areas, including over
40 parks and two PGA rated golf courses. The facilities collectively feature
Picnic/BBQ areas, Picnic Shelters, Scenic Viewpoints, Playgrounds, Trails,
Tennis & Basketball Courts, Baseball/Softball Diamonds, Soccer Fields,
Fishing Ponds/Lakes, Boat Launches, Saltwater Access Points, Off-leash dog
areas, Public Art and Restrooms. Clark
Park also features a Historic
Gazebo, Hauge Homestead
Park offers a Car top or dolly
wheels launch, Langus Riverfront
Park has Rowboats and Legion
Memorial Park features an
Arboretum. Forest Park, a 111 acre
facility, offers Street Hockey, Horseshoes, an Animal Farm, a Water Playground
and a Swim Center,
and hosts special events, such as Music in the Park. Viola
Oursler Park
offers Swimming and hosts water-related special events and programs, including
Kids Fishing Derbies, Rowing Regatta, Hawaiian Canoe Racing and Waterskippers
Boat Camp, as well as Cinema under the Stars, and Camp
Patterson. Walter
E. Hall Park
features a golf course and a skate park. Wiggums
Hollow Park
features several public art works (Labyrinth, Sculptures inspired by fabrics
and clothing belonging to immigrant neighbors, 250 ceramic tiles decorated by
neighbors, Play structures with rooflines reflecting those from countries
around the world). The Labyrinth is open for special event Labyrinth Walks
scheduled periodically. Classes/Activities for all ages are offered in various
categories, including Boating Instruction, Cooking, Health & Wellness, Hiking, Home &
Garden, Outdoors, Performing Arts (Dance), Skiing, Snowshoeing, Special
Interest (e.g. Dog Obedience), Trips and Tours, Aquatics, Sports, Parent/Tot
& Preschool, Senior (Fitness, Tai Chi) and Youth (Babysitting Training).
