The Napa City Community Resources Department (NCRD) maintains and improves the city's park lands, open spaces and street trees, develops, implements and coordinates a variety of recreational and cultural services. The City of Napa has four community parks scattered throughout the community, including Kennedy Memorial Park in the southeast area of the city, Alston Park to the northwest, West Hills Park in the Browns Valley area west of downtown and Fuller Park in the historic district just south of downtown. Outdoor recreational activities, such as fishing, boating, walking and jogging are available along the Napa River Trail, which winds through Kennedy Park and includes a 1 1/2 mile Woodland section. Recreational programs/classes are available for all ages. Preschool classes include sports, music, arts & crafts, dance, gymnastics, and Spanish Special youth sports programs include BMX (Bicycle MotoCross) and Kidz Love Soccer. Golf classes and leagues are offered at Napa Golf Course, which features an 18-hole course, club house, pro shop and Jack's Bar & Grill, open for breakfast & lunch. Teen classes include "Girl Power!" seminars and workshops, Napa TV Productions (at Napa TV studio), Spanish, CPR/First Aid (Red Cross Building), Babysitter Training, Tennis, Dance, and Art. A teen club (Club 4300) meets at Las Flores Community Center on Friday nights. Classes meet at various locations, including Connolly Ranch, Studio Arts Napa Valley, Las Flores Community Center, Senior Center Annex, Pelusi Building, Napa Golf Course at Kennedy Park (2295 Streblow Dr, 707-255-4333), Redwood Middle School, Vintage High School, and the Academy of Dance.

Recreational facilities in American Canyon include the Community Center, which features a Stage, Gym, Small Meeting Room, Restrooms, Aquatic Center, and Skate Park (behind gym) and 13 parks, which collectively feature Playground Equipment, Baseball & Softball Fields, Picnic Areas/Picnic Tables, Barbecues, Basketball Courts, Open Grassy Areas, Walking & Biking Paths. Community Park I, on Rio Grande Dr offers a sand volleyball court. Elliot Park features a Community Garden. The Little League Complex on Hess Dr offers 4 Little League fields and a snack bar. Phillip West Aquatics Center, 707-647-4570, features a Swimming Pool, Wading Pool, snack bar and restrooms/dressing rooms. The Recreation Center features an Assembly Room, Small Kitchen and Restrooms. Recreational Classes/Activities for preschoolers include Tumbling and Dance. Youth/Adult programs include Dance, Art, Adult CPR/First Aid Basics (13 & up), Sports (Basketball) and Martial Arts. Classes/programs just for youth include Holiday Camps and Babysitting Workshop. Teen Programs include Community Services Projects Team, Middle School Dances, and Teen Nights.

Adult Classes include Fitness and Yoga. Senior Adult Programs include Senior Nutrition (age 60+ & spouse) and Club 55 programs (55+) such as Lunch & Bingo, Pinochle and Chartered Trips. Aquatics programs include Open Swim, Adult Fitness Swim, Adult Water Aerobics, AHI swim team, Lifeguard Training and WSI Class. Recreation facilities in Calistoga include Pioneer Park/Playground, Cedar St & Elm, Napa County Fairgrounds, 1435 N Oak St, and 9-hole Mt. St Helena Golf Course (at the Fairgrounds, enter from Grant St). The city is working on constructing a Community Pool, to be located at Logvy Community Park, Washington & North Oak streets, and featuring a 75-feet long, 45-feet wide and up to 13-feet deep lap pool and a slightly smaller and shallower recreation pool, and a building with changing rooms, restrooms, mechanical equipment, and a small staff office.

Recreational facilities in St Helena include St Helena Teen Center, 707-968-9222, Dorothy Gard Skateboard Park, 10 parks, and 4 pathways. 10 acre Crane Park features 6 lighted tennis courts, 4 lighted bocce ball courts, 2 Little League baseball fields, horse shoe pits, children's playground, individual and group picnic areas and two restrooms. Crane Park also houses the St. Helena Farmers Market which is open on Friday mornings May through October. Other parks collectively feature children's play areas and picnic tables. Lyman Park also offers grassy areas, a restroom and a gazebo that can be rented for occasions such as weddings and birthday parties. Lyman Park hosts Summer Band Concerts on Thursday evenings during July and August. Recreation Programs include Youth & Adult Sports: Adult Volleyball drop-in (ongoing, age 16+), Competitive Swim (Children/Teens), Gymnastics (ages 9-12), Jujitsu (ongoing, separate sections for children & adults), Fitness (Yoga, Adult Gymnastics, Adult Tap), Little Hoopsters (ages 5-6); Bridge (Contract, Ongoing), and Summer Middle School S.P.L.A.S.H. Camp. Class locations include Napa Valley Community College, St Helena Women's Center, Carnegie Building, RLS Middle School Gym, and the Primary School Cafeteria

Recreational facilities in Yountville include 4,800 square foot Community Hall, which features an outdoor barbeque, patio and lawn area that can accommodate 100, an indoor dining banquet room that seats 250, a full kitchen with refrigeration, restaurant stove/oven, dishwasher and preparation area, a portable stage, restrooms and on site parking; as well as tennis, bocce & volleyball ball courts, picnic areas, playgrounds and the outdoor Yountville Community Pool, located at the Veterans Home, which offers open swim and swim lessons during the warm months. The Community Service Department offers an After School Program for children in grades K-5 at Yountville Elementary School, 6554 Yount St, which provides organized games/activities, homework time and a child/staff ratio of 12:1.
