Community Overview
Addison is a village of about 32,000 20
miles west of downtown Chicago. The town has an active Park District program.
The town has a variety of manufacturing, warehousing and distribution
companies. Grade schoolchildren attend district 4 schools, while secondary
students are served by district 88. (See below for details on schools).
Transportation needs are served by area highways ((Eisenhower Expwy. - I-290, Tri-State (I-294), North/South Tollway (I-355), East-West Tollway (I-88)) and major local roads (Lake St, North Ave. Rt. 53/Rohlwing Rd., and Army Trail Rd.). Commuter service to downtown is provided by Metra at the Wood Dale station of the Milwaukee District Western (MD-W) line. Travel time to the downtown Chicago station is about 35-45 minutes. Arts classes and activities meet at the Hasbrook Cultural Arts Center,

the facilities are handicapped-accessible. Preschool classes for
children ages 3-5 are held at the Playcenter, and school-aged children
can participate in the Children at Play (C.A.P.) programs held before
and after school at Dryden, Greenbrier, Ivy Hill, Juliette Low, Olive, Patton,
Westgate and Windsor schools. More information on the school-aged program can
