The Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation operates about 80 parks and recreational facilities and provides a variety of recreational programs to meet the needs and interest of all age groups and special populations within the City Of Yonkers. The administration building features the Yonkers Sports Hall Of Fame. The 2 Community Centers each feature a Senior Citizen Center, multi-purpose rooms and restroom facilities, one of them also has conference rooms. The parks have a variety of facilities including playgrounds, baseball and softball diamonds, basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer fields, football fields, open grass areas, blacktop areas, wooded/nature areas, benches, parking lots. A few parks are undeveloped. Some parks have spectator seating for sporting events, some have seasonal shower facilities, others have jogging and/or walking paths. One park features a riverwalk. Ice skating enthusiasts can use the facilities at Murray's Skating Center, 348 Tuckahoe Road. Recreational programs include Adult Recreation Classes, Aquatics, PK Summer Camp, Half Day Sports Camps, and Camp Rays (recreational summer camp for elementary school age children, locations at 5 local schools). Programs for developmentally delayed individuals include Camp Pride (summer day camp for developmentally delayed children and adults), Special Olympics, Girl Scouts, Karate, Tennis, Kids Korner (Art Therapy), Mini Special Olympics, Pet Therapy, Theater Workshop, and Performances & Outings. The Department also offers a Rifle Range at Coyne Park and Dog Obedience Classes at Bronx River Road Community Center, 680 Bronx River Road. The New Rochelle Department of Parks & Recreation operates 20 parks, including a tot lot, 5 lakes, 3 natural areas, and 5 tennis facilities (Pinebrook Tennis Center and courts at 4 local public schools). Five Islands and D’Onofrio Parks have picnic facilities, available for rental. Recreation programs include adult softball leagues, tennis lessons for all ages, summer youth weekly tennis camp and match play program, youth sports, youth summer programs (pre-school camp, day camp for elementary school age children, drop-in activities for middle school children), therapeutic recreation program for children and adults with developmental disabilities (Arts-in-Education, After-school, Generation, Canteen, Scouts, Camp Joy-six-week summer day camp, vacation break camps-summer, winter, spring, trips & special events). Greenburgh Recreation facilities include Greenburgh Nature Center, the Theodore D. Young Community Center and a Fitness Center. The department maintains 600 acres of parkland, ball fields, nature preserves, playgrounds, tennis courts, ponds and outdoor pools, including a new interactive kiddie pool. Classes and activities include over 150 general youth, teen & adult programs, athletic leagues for youth & adults, Summer & Winter Day Camps for children, programs for the developmentally disabled, and trips & special programs for teens. An after-school program meets at the community center. An Office for the Aging coordinates services and classes/activities for senior citizens, and a town wide nutrition program serves them as well. The Arts and Culture Committee offers free monthly programs for people of all ages. The recreation department also participates in events cooperatively with other departments such as the Library, Community Center and Nature Center.

White Plains Parks & Recreation facilities include 51 County parks encompassing 15,900 acres; County-owned amusement park, Playland; 5 County golf courses, 2 municipal golf courses, 43 private golf courses and clubs, Ebersole Ice Rink, 4 County trailways with over 90 miles of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, and 41 nature centers, preserves and conservancies. Municipal public facilities include 14 Active play areas, 2 nature areas, 8 school recreation sites, 50 acres of open space, 3 outdoor Swimming pools (Gardella, Kittrell, and Saxon Woods Parks), Tennis & Racquetball Courts, Ball fields, Maplemoor golf course, Soccer fields, Jogging & bike paths. A variety of classes, programs, and events are offered for individuals of all ages. A Senior Center, 65 Mitchell near S Broadway in the downtown area, is open from 8 AM-4:30 PM weekdays and provides/offers Nutrition, Transportation, Classes, Trips, Special Events, and Health & Support Services. Facilities there include a TV Lounge, Recreation Room, Lending Library, Computer Lab, Arts & Crafts Rooms, Ceramics Room, Card Room, and Dining Room.

The Recreation Department administers the Town's various recreation programs/services for the residents of the Unincorporated Town of Mamaroneck and the Village of Mamaroneck and Larchmont and maintains its facilities, which include the Hommocks Park Ice Rink and Outdoor Swimming Pool Complex, Memorial Park and the Carpino-Steffens Fields. A wide variety of leisure activities including aquatic programs at the Hommocks Pool are available year round to residents of all ages. During the summer, the Recreation Department runs day camp programs including 2 pre-school camps, 1 full day playground, a music camp, as well as tennis and soccer camps. Along with the ice rink and outdoor swimming pool complex, there are 4 tennis courts and two playgrounds at Memorial (Myrtle) Park, which is supervised by the Recreation Department

The 15 parks located in the Village of Mamaroneck offer a variety of opportunities for active and passive recreation. Five parks feature a sitting area, one with tables, and another with checker tables near a stream. One park consists of a grassy area, while another features a jogging and/or walking path. Facilities at the remaining 5 parks include playground equipment, swings, basketball courts, tennis courts, sports fields, walking paths or tracks, and benches. One park includes a nature trail. Guion Creek Nature Trail features trails through a natural salt water marsh area on Long Island Sound. Harbor Island Park facilities uniquely include a 700 ft. salt water beach, pavilion, rest rooms, showers, marina, boat launching area, docks, and fishing floats. Some special events are held at this park.

The Ossining Community Center provides programs and classes for all ages, with classes for senior citizens and preschoolers meeting in the mornings and early afternoon, after school and summer programs for children, and adult evening programs including social dance, yoga, and aerobics. Open gym and basketball is held every Saturday and Sunday evening. The Town of Ossining maintains over 130 acres of parkland, spread over 5 parks. Facilities at the parks include soccer/football fields, fitness trails, horseshoe pits, pavilions, tennis courts, basketball courts, ball fields, playgrounds, picnic areas, fishing ponds, bocce courts, roller hockey rink, hiking/nature study area, sunning beach, and rest rooms.

The Port Chester Recreation Department creates and promotes recreational, cultural and play opportunities for all Village residents and develops and maintains Port Chester's parks and nature areas. The village has recently installed new playgrounds at Edgewood, Recreation, John Lyon, and Columbus Parks. Columbus Park also has new basketball and volleyball courts and a picnic shelter. Several new recreation programs have been added, including a new free playground program at Columbus Park, and after school instructional programs, such as Hands on Clay, Start Smart, Floor Hockey, Basketball, and Tennis. The newly organized Port Chester Youth Baseball League, now runs all youth baseball programs for children/youth ages 7-17, including T-Ball, Midget Baseball, Youth Baseball (Little League) and the Summer Baseball League (914-937-2237 for info). Soccer programs include a Saturday Recreation League, which also involves participation in a fall and spring traveling league. A six-week day camp program, featuring swimming at least twice a week, arts and crafts, USTA tennis, a computer program for younger campers and trips to Yankee Stadium, Rye Playland and other attractions, is held each summer at Park Avenue School for children in grades 1-6. Other youth activities include Frozen Ropes Fall Ball Leagues, Karate (Tae Kwon Do), Basketball (Boys/Girls, Grades 3 & 5), Drop-in Basketball (young men, ages 13-22), Floor Hockey (Grades 1-2), Girls Softball (Grades 3-6, includes Rye Brook residents), Ice Skating (Grades 1-8, includes Rye Brook residents). Adult classes include Yoga (with Rye Brook), and Total Body Workout ( Morning and Evening Sessions), both held at the A.J. Posillipo Center. A Seniors Nutrition Program, currently held at Crawford Park, No. Ridge St. in Rye Brook from 9:30 - 3:00 M-F, offers hot lunch, exercise classes, daily socialization, special events, monthly trips, health education, and holiday programs (914-939- 4975 for info). Programs for individuals with disabilities include year round therapeutic recreation programs from the South East Consortium for Special Services, and Special Recreation on alternate Saturdays during the school year and a summer camp, sponsored by the Port Chester/Rye Brook Association of Retarded Citizens.

The Parks and Recreation Department provides a variety of activities and programs for all ages, including community and special events, toddler/pre-school activities, youth and teen activities, such as sports, karate, dance, summer day camps, Westchester County events, sports classes/leagues/clinics/camps, and adult and senior adult activities such as yoga. Facilities include the Recreation Office in Goldens Bridge, Town Park, Vista Field and Onatru Farm Park in South Salem, and Fox Valley Park in Goldens Bridge. The Scarsdale Recreation Dept maintains 20 parks, playgrounds and sports fields, 26 tennis courts, 6 paddle tennis courts, and a municipal swimming pool complex. School District facilities complement the town parks and sports fields. County-owned Saxon Woods Golf Course and Bronx River Parkway Reserve are also available to residents. Recreational Summer Day Camp programs are offered for children ages 5-13, along with specialized programs (sports camp, soccer camp, digital video & 3rd eye camp, teen travel camp). The Weinberg Nature Center, 455 Mamaroneck Rd, 914-722-1289, offers educational programming for preschool and school age children, and its facilities include a Butterfly and Hummingbird Garden, and a Japanese Style Zen Meditation Garden. Classes and programs include tennis, sports (youth soccer, football, basketball-youth & adult, running club, wrestling, baseball), arts & crafts, music, chess, middle school "rec" nights, youth employment services, driver education, senior adult services and activities. Special Recreation Programs are offered through the South East Consortium for Special Services for individuals with disabilities and special needs in the towns/villages of Mamaroneck, Larchmont, Rye, Rye Brook, Port Chester and Tuckahoe.

The North Castle Recreation and Parks Department offers a variety of recreational programs, including special events and public service activities, for all ages, from pre-school to senior citizens. The department manages over sixty acres of parkland with 5 major parks and many smaller mini-parks located throughout town. Park facilities include a community center, softball/baseball fields, tennis courts, basketball courts, platform tennis courts, handball wall, picnic pavilion, cinder track, gazebo with sitting areas and playgrounds. The recreation department is also part of the consortium that supports North East Westchester Special Recreation, a community-based therapeutic recreation agency that coordinates recreation services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. In addition to programs and activities offered by the Town of Eastchester, Bronxville offers its own variety of recreation options for people of all ages.  Activities include court sports, child development programs such as day camp and gymnastics, and special community events.  Park facilities include Bicentennial Park, School Field, Dogwood Park, Maltby Park, River-Lake Park (part of the Bronx River Reservation), Scout Field, The Meadow, Bacon Woodlands, Sagamore Park, and Leonard Morange Square. Bicentennial Park has been landscaped as an outdoor garden and has benches and paved areas. School Field is generally available to the public when no school activities are taking place, and features a football field, three smaller fields and a running track. Dogwood Park, A 2.4 acre tennis complex, includes five tennis courts, a tennis building, a children's play area and a sitting area. Maltby Park features a 2.6 acre play area and The "Betty Parker" cabin (also know as the Girl Scout cabin). River-Lake Park (part of the Bronx River Reservation) is owned by Westchester County and is available for walks, informal play and as a sitting area. Scout Field, a park owned by the County and leased to Bronxville and Mount Vernon, is heavily used for active recreation, mainly by the Bronxville schools' soccer, football, baseball and cross country running programs. The Meadow is an undeveloped area of 5.7 acres. Bacon Woodlands is a natural rock outcropping left in its natural state, the flatter portion of the park serves as an informal play area for children. Sagamore Park: A small playground and park renovated as a play area for children. Leonard Morange Square, named for Leonard S. Morange, the first village resident to lose his life in WWI, features a small park-like setting with benches for sitting.

The Town of Eastchester manages nine major parks, many mini parks and passive areas. Park facilities include baseball and softball fields, soccer and open play fields, Pony/Colt and Little League fields, playgrounds, climbing apparatus, tennis and paddle tennis courts, basketball and horseshoe courts, picnic area with tables, benches, a barbecue grill and restrooms. Some parks have rock gardens, sitting areas, a gazebo and summer concerts. The Town's facilities are supplemented with local school facilities. 116-acre Lake Isle Park features an 18-hole golf course, swimming pool complex with 5 outdoor pools, and 6 tennis courts. Leewood Park also has six all-weather tennis courts and two platform/paddle tennis courts with lights. Eastchester operates three summer day camps for children ages 5 through 14. Recreational programs cover all areas of the Town and include sports, the arts, cultural and social activities that serve children, youths and adults. Classes/programs/leagues/events include baseball, platform tennis, golf, adult volleyball, skiing, ice skating, karate, soccer, golf, basketball, tennis, softball, concerts, theatre, and special interest classes/programs such as games galore, arts & crafts, kids in the kitchen, safe on my own, babysitting basics, CPR for the professional rescuer, basic aid training, creative clothing & design, rocketry, trips & travel, and special holiday activities.

The Town of New Castle Recreation and Parks Commission maintains seven parks, totaling 517 acres. Recreation Field features

a multi-purpose athletic field, including a lighted baseball field which is used by the Town's youth leagues, men's softball and "The Over 30" baseball programs, and a Gazebo where town-sponsored summer concerts are held. A playground, built and funded by community volunteers, is located next to the Recreation Field behind New Castle Town Hall. Gedney Park offers hiking and walking trails, scenic views, ice skating, sledding, picnic area and shelter, year-round comfort station, playground, soccer fields, tennis courts, horseshoe pits and baseball fields. Bicentennial Park - Duck Pond offers a quiet pond, walking bridge and sitting area, along with a capsule to commemorate our country's Bicentennial Celebration in 1976. Whippoorwill Park features both a marked trail system and rugged terrain for hiking, and lends itself well to wildlife observation including birding. Millwood Park facilities include seasonal restrooms, a softball field, a children's play area and tennis courts. Smith Park is a neighborhood park which offers a limited multi-purpose athletic field, playground and half-court basketball area. Glazier Arboretum offers trails through open fields and forest and scenic views, and also, along with Whippoorwill Park, lends itself well to wildlife observation including birding. In addition to the parks, school facilities also host events and programs. Programs offered include fitness, boys and girls basketball; flag and youth football; open gym; spring adult softball; over 30+ adult basketball; and adult team tennis. Summer Camp programs include Camp Adventure for elementary school-age children, and Tots Camp for preschool and Kindergarten age children, and are held from late June to early August. A number of other camps, specialized to a particular interest, such as golf or the arts, and/or age group, such as those in middle or high school, are also offered. Charter bus trips to ski areas in the Berkshires and Catskills are offered for ages 11 and up, with a Learn-To-Ski package that includes bus, beginner lift ticket, lesson and equipment rental.

Cortlandt Manor Recreation offers a variety of programs, including Youth Sports Leagues, Summer Camp, Sports Camps, Karate, Adult Sports & Fitness, Preschool Arts & Crafts & Music, Teen Programs, Tennis, Senior Citizen Programs (Club, Resource & Referral, Nutrition, Prescription Pickup & Delivery, Shopping, Recognition Day, Arthritis Group, Bereavement Group). Features at these parks and throughout the communities include swimming pool, bocce courts, horseshoe pits, sports fields, and playgrounds. The Recreation & Parks Department maintains and renovates the parks and playgrounds, and offers fitness, yoga, and dance classes, youth sports, trips, and special events for all ages. Preschool age children can participate in a playgroup. Summer camps are available for elementary school children. Cake decorating workshops are offered for children and adults. The department offers a youth employment service that matches youth and potential employers with jobs such as babysitting and yard work. Defensive driving classes, including the AARP class for senior citizens, are available. Senior citizens can also join a senior citizens club, participate in fitness programs, a book discussion group, mall shopping trips and use a shopping bus to take them to local stores. Parks & Facilities include the community room at the municipal building, Croton Point Park & Playing Fields, Dobbs Park, Duck Pond Park, Senasqua Park, Senasqua Boat Basin, Croton Sailing School, Silver Lake, Sunset Park Playground, Firefighters Memorial Field, Spencer Field, Harrison Street Park, Skate Park, Vassallo Park, Black Rock Park. Dobbs and Duck Pond Parks feature baseball fields, basketball courts and playgrounds. Senasqua Park and adjacent Boat Basin features a boat launch ramp & mooring space, picnic facilities, and playground. Croton Sailing School, also adjacent to Senasqua Park, offers sailing lessons to teens and adults. Silver Lake is open for swimming, by permit or daily fee. Some parks and facilities are open only to village and school district residents. Firefighters Memorial Field has facilities for softball & baseball. Spencer Field offers its track for public use. A handicapped accessible trail is available for walking/jogging along the Hudson River. Harrison Street Park offers a playground for young children. Vassallo Park has an outdoor stage and hosts special events throughout the year. Black Rock Park has facilities for fishing, strolling and picnicking.

The Fifth Annual Jazz Forum Arts Summer Concert Series, with 10 free shows on Wednesdays evenings from 6:30 - 8:00 PM, at Waterfront Park or at the Community Center in case of rain. The Harrison Recreation Department offers year round programs, designed to meet the interests and needs of all ages. Indoor programs and classes are held in the department's three community centers. Facilities for outdoor activities, including swimming, tennis, softball, baseball, and picnicking, are available at the community parks and on school fields. Four day camp programs are held throughout the community during the months of July and August. Special events include Easter Egg Hunts, Halloween Programs, Summer Concerts, and Sports Tournaments. An annual "It's Great to Live in Harrison/Columbus Day Celebration" is held in October featuring a parade of marching bands and community organizations followed by a "fiesta" in the park across from the municipal building.

Sleepy Hollow Recreation Department Programs include the After-school Program, Meals-on-Wheels, Summer Day Camps, and Baseball, Basketball, Soccer, and Football Youth Leagues (Co-Sponsor). Village Parks include Barnhart Park, Devries Park and Field, Douglas Park, Margotta Court, Rev. Sykes Park and Horan’s Landing Park. Barnhart Park, Rev. Sykes Park and Margotta Court all feature basketball courts, and playground equipment. Barnhart Park has volleyball courts as well. Rev. Sykes Park also has a sprinkler play area. Devries Park and Field has facilities for baseball, picnicking, and fishing, and includes playground equipment, and a greenway trail. Douglas Park also has facilities for picnicking, and fishing, and includes playground equipment, and a greenway trail.

Horan’s Landing Park features a riverwalk, car-top-boat launch, picnic tables, and great lawn. The Village of Sleepy Hollow offers daily van transportation for senior citizens to a senior nutrition program in Tarrytown, limited transportation to local doctors’ offices and hospitals, and for shopping trips

Somers Parks and Recreation Dept offers a variety of programs and services year-round for residents of all ages. Most sports activities meet at Reis Park on Route 139, which features ball fields, tennis courts, soccer fields, basketball courts, a children’s playground, a large picnic pavilion and fitness trails. A summer day camp program for elementary school children is also held here.  Reis Park also houses the Somers Public Library. Nearby Wayne Van Tassel Park hosts the Tot Time program for pre-school children, and houses the Somers Teen Center and Senior Nutrition Center. Koegel Park, on Route 118, is used for passive recreation, such as hiking and camping by permit. Summer concerts are held in Bailey Park on Route 100 opposite the Town House.

The Bedford Recreation and Parks Department maintains 5 parks, 3 for active recreation activities and 2 for passive recreational pursuits in the towns of Bedford, Bedford Hills and Katonah. The active recreation parks, Bedford Memorial, Bedford Hills and Katonah Memorial, offer facilities for tennis, baseball/softball, basketball, swimming, soccer, football and picnicking. Each features a playground and shelter and offers a summer day camp program. Bedford Memorial and Katonah Memorial have a paddle tennis court, and Bedford Hills has facilities for ice skating and fishing. Katonah Memorial has a sledding hill and walking trails. Rosaforte Park offers facilities for baseball/softball and picnicking and has a walking trail. Indian Hill and Beaver Dam Parks feature natural areas. Classes and programs are available for all ages, and include "tot funtime", "Tiny Tots" camp, Summer Day Camp for elementary school age children, "Teen Escape" for middle school children, fitness classes for adults, seasonal activities and senior citizen programs. North East Westchester Special Recreation offers programs and classes, including a summer camp, for individuals with disabilities.

The Pelham Recreation Dept offers a variety of recreational programs, including tennis, fitness, basketball, chess, karate, piano and dance. Many programs meet at the Richard J Daronco Town House. Special programs include story hour and an after-school recreation program for children in grades 4-5. The department hosts a Teen Center for grades 6-12, and a number of services, activities and classes for senior citizens. Recreation Department classes and activities are supplemented with those offered by not-for-profit groups such as Pelham Little League, Pelham Children's Theater, the Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Recreational facilities include Glover Field, which features a soccer/football/field hockey field, and tennis courts, Ingalls Field and Franklin Fields, both located at the high school, Prospect Field, and a gazebo. Pelham residents can also participate in the park system of Westchester County, which includes sand beaches, 18-hole golf courses, swimming pools, and thousands of acres of woodland for hiking, fishing, picnicking and camping. Individuals with disabilities can participate in programs of the South East Consortium for Special Services, of which Pelham is a member.

The Tarrytown Recreation Department provides a variety of events and recreational activities and maintains 7 Village parks. Facilities in the parks include sports fields (baseball, soccer), basketball and tennis courts, picnic areas, and playgrounds. Pierson Park also features a pavilion and bocci court, and houses the Senior Center. Pilla Landing offers a gazebo. Recreation programs for individuals with disabilities are offered by the Tarrytown Recreation Department in collaboration with the Greenburgh Recreation Department. A variety of classes and activities are offered for all ages. Programs for elementary school age children include a mid-winter and summer day camp. Adult classes focus on fitness, yoga and sports (softball, basketball). Services and activities for Senior Citizens include a nutrition program, transportation and various events/trips. The department works with outside organizations and programs, including Youth Basketball & Tennis, Wolfpack Football & Cheerleading, TNT Baseball & Softball, and AYSO Soccer.

The Mt Kisco Recreation Dept offers sports programs for all ages, karate classes for children, yoga and fitness classes for adults, and a variety of programs and services for senior citizens, including exercise classes, bridge group, arts & crafts activities, line dance, chorus and computer instruction. AARP sponsors Tax Help and a Safe Driving Course. Special programs include Camp Iroquis (summer day camp for elementary school age children) and Teen Travel Camp. Recreation facilities include Fox Park, which features a softball field, basketball courts and Fox Center, a facility for senior citizens, and Leonard Park, a 120-acre complex which offers a children’s play area (Kiwanis Korner), four lit tennis courts, 1 lit paddle tennis court, Memorial Pool, basketball courts, upper & lower picnic areas, a Teahouse with picnic areas in the rear, softball, hardball and little league fields, Frisbee golf course, sleigh riding, skating and fishing on Wallace Pond. North East Westchester Special Recreation Consortium, of which Mt Kisco is a member, coordinates recreation services for children and adults with various developmental disabilities, including a summer camp for ages 3- 21.

The Hastings-on-Hudson Recreation Dept offers programs for all age groups. In the fall/winter months the sports program offers youth football, soccer, basketball, bowling, skating and ski trips. Spring and summer classes and activities include baseball, softball swimming, tennis instruction, volleyball, exercise workshops, arts and crafts, special events in the parks, bus trips and a variety of playground activities. There is a summer camps for preschool children and a six-week day camp for those in elementary school. Both are held at Hillside School. Chemka Pool is the site for a number of swimming programs, including free instruction for children in grades Kindergarten through sixth, lifeguard training and a fitness and senior citizen swims. The swim team, which competes in meets during July and August, is open to pool permit holders ages 7 to 18 years. Recreational swimming is available to those with season memberships, open to town and school district residents. Recreational tennis is offered at Hillside Park and Reynolds Field for those with annual permits. During the summer the Recreation Department sponsors a women's tennis team as well as village-wide tennis tournaments. James Harmon Community Center houses the Senior Canteen and an after-school activity room, and is used for most indoor programs and activities. The department's parks offer a variety of features, including picnic areas, playgrounds, tennis courts and sports fields (baseball, football, basketball, track). Hillside Park houses a swimming pools and bathhouse complex, ice skating pond and facilities for fishing. Adjacent Hillside Woods offers hiking trails and a vernal pond. Two parks, Senior Citizens Vest Pocket Park, and Wagner Park, are designed for senior citizens and provide passive recreation.

Briarcliff Manor Recreation Dept: 48 Macy Rd, Briarcliff Manor NY 10510, 914-941-6560

The Village of Briarcliff Manor maintains a number of passive and active recreational facilities and parks. Chilmark Park offers a variety of types of tennis courts, and also features a half-court basketball court, a soccer field, a baseball/softball, and a playground. Jackson Road Park covers 4.76 acres and features a basketball court, double-sided rebound wall suitable for paddle ball, and playground. About half of the park is still undeveloped and consists mainly of wetlands. Kate Kennard Trail is a mile long trail that is part of a permanent public easement made possible by the Rosecliff residential development. Law Memorial Park houses the Village Pool complex, Bathhouse/Pavilion, two clay tennis courts with lights for evening play, an additional clay court without lights, and one year-round all-weather court, and a playground that includes swings, a sandbox, and play structures for children 2-5 and 5-12 years old. Lynn McCrum Field features a multi-purpose youth sports playing field, parking for approximately fifty cars, and a restroom/utility building. Neighborhood Park offers a youth baseball field, basketball court and playground. Nichols Nature Area, a 3.8-acre site with steep slopes to assure that this land will remain in its natural state serve as home to many of the region’s flora and fauna, is only accessible from Nichols Place. Old Croton Aqueduct Trail follows the aqueduct from Croton to New York City, and Briarcliff Manor residents can access the trail off Scarborough Road, north of the Scarborough Fire Station. Pine Road Park is presently undeveloped. Pocantico Park, the Village’s largest park, at 70.9 acres, abuts the Pocantico River and is home to a large number of animals found in the region including the white tail deer. Some hiking trails are marked. Scarborough Park is a riverside park, next to the Scarborough train station, and has facilities for fishing. Westchester County Bike Trail is accessible to local residents  behind the Briarcliff Manor Library, off Pleasantville Road. The Recreation Center, located within Chilmark Park, at 48 Macy Road, the Center is a focal point of indoor recreational opportunities in the Village, including seasonal indoor programs, and houses a number of community organizations, including the Rotary Club, the Senior Citizen’s Club and the Briarcliff Manor Garden Club. Residents may also rent the facility for private social functions.

Tuckahoe Community Center hosts a number of recreation programs, classes, activities, and meetings, including a Mother-Child Playgroup, Open Gym, Cartoon Drawing for children, Jazzercise, Yoga, Basketball, Tai Chi, Scouts, Youth Soccer, Adult Education, SAT Review, Weight Watchers, Blue Devils, Lacrosse and Defensive Driving. The Buchanan Recreation Department, through the recreation supervisor, administers all recreation and parks activities and manages the part-time summer recreational staff. The department operates a swimming pool and summer day-camp programs.

The village of Ardsley provides a variety of recreation and sports programs for residents and for students of the Ardsley school district. The community center on Center Street features a large party room with a pool table, ping-pong table, big screen television, kitchen and restroom facilities. The community center is open for youth activities and senior citizens programs, and is the site for a variety of classes, community group meetings and other functions. Classes offered include youth and adult basketball, and preschool soccer and music. A Senior Bus regularly provides transportation from the community center to shopping areas and to the Embassy Club in Dobbs Ferry for lunch, Monday through Friday. The Recreation Department maintains and oversees all village parks, including Ashford Park, which features lighted tennis courts, a softball field, a basketball court, soccer fields, a playground, a skatepark and picnic areas, and McDowell Park, which has four baseball diamonds, a basketball court and a picnic pavilion. Six small parks are located throughout the community.  Ashford Park also hosts the annual Park day, tennis tournament, and 5-K Run, as well as the annual Garage Sale. Special events include a Halloween parade, a holiday tree lighting ceremony and programs for children and adults.

The Pound Ridge Recreation Department offers seasonal as well as ongoing programs throughout the year. Town Park features ball fields, tennis courts, a playground, swimming and bathing pools, as well as benches and grills for picnicking.  The department offers a summer day camp for children. A variety of other programs, including exercise classes, tennis, basketball, and other sports are open to all ages. A bridge group is offered for adults, preschoolers can enjoy toddler art classes, and elementary school age children can participate in Little League baseball. In addition to village recreation programs, the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation, Westchester County's largest park at more than 4,700 acres, offers trails for walking or horseback riding, cross country skiing slopes, campsites and picnic areas, and the Trailside Nature Museum exhibits specimen animals and minerals and local Indian artifacts.
