The Baldwin Union Free School District's Community Services Division offers a variety of classes and programs including

Elementary school children can participate in Saturday Morning Basketball, Saturday Afternoon Lacrosse, and the
Saturday Pupil Enrichment Program (PEP), which offers Computers, Cooking, Dance, Reading/Writing Skills, Spanish, Theater Arts, Guitar, Keyboarding/Piano, Math Enrichment, and Wood Models. Saturday Night Alive is aimed at Middle/High School students, featuring Sports, Games, and Movies.

The East Rockaway Recreation Dept offers a variety of activities and programs, including flag football for elementary/middle school children, a playgroup for special needs children, open basketball & volleyball (John Street Complex), a defensive driving class, yoga instruction (East Rockaway Recreation Center), Teen/'Tween Game Night, Children's Game Day, Movie Matinees (Children & Seniors), and special events.

Freeport Recreation Center is the location for the Village of Freeport's recreational programs and activities. Facilities in the center's health wing include an Exercise Room with Multi and Single Station Equipment, Treadmills and Stationary Bikes, Gym, Indoor Pool, Steam Room and Sauna, Showers, Lockers, Massage Room and (seasonally available) an Outdoor Olympic Pool, Diving Tank, Kiddie Pool and Playground. An Ice Rink operates seasonally during the late fall, winter and early spring months. Youth classes & programs include arts & crafts, dance, drama, guitar, gym, karate, kiddie club, mom & tot and swimming. Adult programs include fitness, aquacise, dog obedience, and massage therapy. Classes for all ages include fencing and swimming. Yoga is offered for senior adults. Seniors can also participate in fitness, sports (volleyball, bowling), computer lessons, bridge, quilting, line dance, crafts, billiards and other activities at the senior center, located inside the recreation center. The Freeport Police Athletic League (PAL) also provides sports and other programs for local youths.

The Garden City Recreation Department operates 5 parks, 2 community swimming pools, and a senior recreation center. All the parks have one or more baseball/softball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds (with equipment) and comfort stations. 3 of the 5 parks have an athletic field, 2 of the 5 have a soccer field, 2 of the 5 have a volleyball court, 1 has a picnic area and 1 has a bocci court and horseshoe pit.

The City of Glen Cove operates and maintains the City's recreational facilities, including parks, beaches, city boat ramp, the stadium and other leisure facilities. Facilities at the parks and beaches include tennis courts, basketball courts (some lighted), handball courts, volleyball courts, sports fields, playgrounds, bathing areas, concession stands, and picnic areas. The municipal golf course offers 18-holes of play, lighted driving range, full-service restaurant, and concession stand. A fishing pier, adjacent to Pryibil Beach, makes saltwater fishing available to all residents and is the site of the annual Mayor's Snapper Derby contest for children. John Maccarone Memorial Stadium contains eight baseball/softball fields, two concession stands, two announcer's stands, three batting cages, and one regulation size basketball court. Pascucci Soccer Field is a regulation-sized lighted soccer field on 4 acres of land adjacent to Glen Street Rail Road station. Old Tappan Tennis Court Complex includes 7 tennis courts, 4 handball courts, 2 platform tennis courts, and a playground. Free concerts are held at Morgan Memorial Park during the summer. The Department of Parks and Recreation co-sponsors (with the Glen Cove Lions Club) Sea Scout Troop 12. Membership is open to boys and girls between 14 and 20 who share an interest in maritime activities, both recreational and occupational. Recreational programs include youth sports programs (Teeball, Baseball/Softball, Basketball, Bowling, Boxing, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer), "Under the Lights" Summer Basketball League (grades 4-8), Glen Cove Summer Day Camp and Big Red Sports Camp, Swimming Classes for Beginning & Intermediate Swimmers, and Bus Trips and tours to a variety of local & regional destinations.

Great Neck Park District operates and maintains several major parks, 7 neighborhood parks and 3 "passive" parks suitable for nature walks and other quiet recreation. Parkwoods Sports Complex features a pool, indoor skating rink and pool. Facilities at the other large parks include tennis courts, softball & baseball diamonds, soccer fields, handball & basketball courts, playgrounds, and picnic areas. One park features pheasants, rabbits and a duck pond, another offers a sledding hill, a third has over five miles of trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. Some of the parks have restroom facilities. One park features a formal rose garden, gazebo, bandstand for concerts, and senior exercise course. Steppingstone Park houses the marina, home to Steppingstone Sailing School, and also features a wading pool and aqua park, boat launching ramp and fishing dock, and, during the summer (July & August), the Steppingstone Waterside Theatre. As for activities, the park district offers classes in aerobics, acting, ceramics, cooking, crafts, dance, drama and exercise for adults. Children's programs and classes include Stepping Stone preschool at Steppingstone Park, a summer camp (Camp Parkwood) for school-aged children and Summerfest Production Camp and Performing Arts Workshops, open to grades 8-12. Youth classes include arts & crafts, creative movement/dance, tumbling and yoga. Other activities and events at Great Neck House include movies, live performances, and art exhibits.

The North Hempstead Recreation Department maintains parks in
the communities of Manhasset, Port Washington, New Hyde Park, Garden City Park,
Westbury, Carle Place, Albertson, Searingtown and Roslyn in the Town of North
Hempstead. Facilities at the parks include picnic areas, playgrounds,
concession areas, boat ramps, bocci, basketball, tennis, handball and
shuffleboard courts, horseshoe pits, fishing areas, baseball, softball,
lacrosse, football and soccer fields, swimming pools, spray and wading pools,
and community/recreation centers. Activities and programs include swimming,
tennis and dance lessons, little league baseball, roller skating, fishing,
fitness and yoga classes, and kayaking. A Sunday afternoon Summer Concert
Series is offered at Bar Beach Park in Port Washington. Michael Tully Park in
New Hyde Park features an outdoor track and stadium. Clark Botanical Gardens in
Albertson features flowering trees and shrubs, roses, wildflowers, and
perennials and annuals; and offers educational classes and summer concerts. Mad
Science of Long Island and the Town of North Hempstead jointly sponsor science

The Oyster Bay Parks Department maintains park facilities and beaches, develops and supervises recreational activities, operates all marinas and boat launching ramps in the town, as well as the town’s golf course. Recreation programs include adult softball leagues, fitness classes, tai chi, mall walking, swimming lessons, youth ice hockey, and the summer recreation program (activities for children/teens at parks and beaches in the town). The department also organizes various special events, such as the Wheelchair 10K Championship Race, the 10K Run for A.S.P.I.R.E (programs for children with prosthetics), the "Play in Oyster Bay" Photo Contest, the Summer Car Display of vintage automobiles, Hunter Safety Clinics, Triathlon, and the Bay Bluefish Tournament. The Community Center of Plainview-Old Bethpage is the site for education, entertainment, information and recreation programs for all ages. Activities include a community chorus, ceramics, dance, toddler movement, fitness, arts & crafts, swimming, and senior adult sports and games. Classes are held at various locations, including the Middle School, Stratford Road School, and Jamaica Avenue School. Swimming Classes meet at the OBJFK High School pool.

Rockville Centre Recreation Department offers sports, fitness, entertainment, education and enrichment activities, classes and programs for all ages. Recreational facilities include Anderson Recreation Center, which features 2 gyms, class and meeting rooms, and rooms for community groups and family gatherings, as well as the sports fields just off of Peninsula Boulevard. Programs and events include a preschool, middle school dances, square dancing, men's softball, trips, and contests. The Sandel Senior Center offers classes and activities, such as aerobics, arts & crafts, music, walking, yoga and book clubs to adults age 60 or over. A variety of special events, trips and travel is also available.

Village recreational facilities include Sea Cliff Municipal Beach, which features a sandy strip and pavilion with restrooms, first-aid and shower facilities and Harry Tappan Beach, which offers an outdoor pool, swings, refreshment stands, and a tree-shaded picnic area with a playground. The largest public marina in the Town of Oyster Bay is adjacent to the beach. The village also maintains 6 parks (Central, Clifton, Elm, Veteran's Memorial, Plaza and Roslyn). Park facilities include swings, playground equipment, and paved walks. Several of the parks contain war memorials. Elm Park has a natural stage and is the theater used for Shakespeare in the park. Roslyn Park is a playing area for junior baseball and softball and is also the site for “Victorian Family Social” and “Pot Luck Picnic.”

Silver Threads Senior Citizen Club meets 6 days a week (M-F & Sun) and includes activities such as line dance, exercise, softball, art classes, swimming, monthly bingo, knitting/crocheting, guest speakers, trips and theater.
