Miami-Dade County Public Schools operates 450 schools covering grades PK-12, which serve 353,463 students in the City of Miami and other Dade County communities, including Aventura, Bay Harbor Islands, Carol City, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Cutler Bay, Doral, El Portal, Florida City, Hialeah, Hialeah Gardens, Homestead, Key Biscayne, Leisure City, Miami Beach,  Miami Gardens, Miami Lakes, Opa-Locka, Miami Springs, Naranja, North Bay Village, North Miami, North Miami Beach, Perrine, South Miami. 271 schools are elementary level (PK, K, PK-K, PK-2, PK-5, K-4, K-5, 1-5, PK-6, K-6), 63 are middle schools (6-8), 43 are high schools (9-12), and the rest are other grade configurations (e.g. K-8, K-12, 4-8, 4-12, 6-12, 7-12, 8-12, 11-12). 65 schools, representing all grade levels, are charter programs. Student/teacher ratio is 16:1 (district-wide). The district employs about 26,500 classroom teachers, nearly 9,000 support personnel, and around 1400 administrators. 60% of teachers have a Bachelors Degree only, 40% have a Masters Degree or higher. Per Pupil cost is $8,502. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented and Special Needs students. 24% of elementary students (and 9% of both middle and high school students) are enrolled in the English to Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) program, 11% of elementary (and 12% of both middle and high school students) receive Special Education services, and 7% of elementary, 11% of middle, and 10% of high school students are enrolled in Gifted Education programs. Magnet school programs are offered at all grade levels. Student/teacher ratio is 16:1 (district-wide). The district employs nearly 15,900 classroom teachers, about 5,400 support personnel, and around 650 administrators. 61% of teachers have a Bachelors Degree only, 39% have a Masters Degree or higher. Palm Beach County Public Schools operates 230 schools covering grades PK-12, which serve 170,598 students in Palm Beach County communities, including Belle Glade, Boca Raton, Boynton Beach, Canal Point, Delray Beach, Greenacres, Hypoluxo, Juno Beach Jupiter, Lake Park, Lake Worth, Lantana, Loxahatchee, North Palm Beach, Pahokee, Palm Beach, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Springs, Riviera Beach, Royal Palm Beach, South Bay, Wellington and West Palm Beach. 108 schools are elementary level (PK, PK-5, K-2, K-5, 3-5, K-6, PK-6), 32 are middle schools (6-8), 39 are high schools (9-12), and the rest are other grade configurations (PK-8, K-8, PK-9, K-12, 6-9, 6-12, 7-12, non-graded). 35 schools (PK, PK-2, K-5, K-6, K-7, K-8, 6-8, 6-12, 9-11, 9-12) are charter programs. Student/teacher ratio is 15:1 (district-wide). The district employs about 11,650 classroom teachers, nearly 4,300 support personnel, and around 500 administrators. 68% of teachers have a Bachelors Degree only, 32% have a Masters Degree or higher. Per Pupil cost is $8,345. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented and Special Needs students. 13% of elementary, 5% of middle and 6% of high school students are enrolled in the English to Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) program, 15% of elementary, 14% of middle, and 12% of high school students receive Special Education services, and 6% of elementary, 8% of middle, and under 1% of high school students are enrolled in Gifted Education programs. Support services for all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and counseling. The district offers "Choice Schools", Career Academies, Magnet Programs and Charter Schools through its School Choice program, administered by the Department of Choice Programs and School Choice. Adult and community education programs are also available.
