Clark County School District operates 298 schools (183 elementary, 64 middle, 40 high, and the rest with varying grade configurations), which serve 293,801 students in the cities of Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, Mesquite, and Boulder City, and the surrounding communities of East Las Vegas (Whitney), Enterprise, Glendale, Spring Valley, Summerlin, Sunrise Manor, Winchester, Blue Diamond, Jean, Sandy Valley, Goodsprings, Searchlight, Laughlin, Bunkerville, Calico Basin, Indian Springs, Logandale, Mt Charleston, Moapa, Moapa Valley, Virgin Valley, and Overton. The district employs 32,841 staff members, including 20,303 teachers, 1,251 student support personnel, and 1,013 instructional staff support personnel. Per Pupil cost (district) is $6,031. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented, and Special Needs students. Support services for all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and counseling.

Nye County School District operates 19 schools (7 elementary, 2 middle, 4 elementary/middle, 2 middle/high, 4 high), which serve 6,223 students in the communities of Amargosa Valley, Beatty, Gabbs, Pahrump, Round Mountain and Tonapah. The district employs 399 certified personnel, including teachers, counselors, psychologists, and therapists, 369 classified staff, and 27 administrators. 23% of teachers hold advanced degrees. Student/Teacher Ratio is 15:1 in Kindergarten, 17: 1 in grade 1, 20:1 in grades 2-3, and 21:1 in grades 4-5. Average class size for grades 6-12 is 13 for English, 17 for Math, 19 for Science, and 22 for Social Studies.
