The BellvilleParks
and Recreation Department operates and maintains 5 parks. The largest is CityPark, which hosts fairs, cook-offs,
antique shows and family gatherings, and features several buildings, a
playground and open areas, as well as the Turnverein Pavilion, one of
Bellville’s historic landmarks. The pavilion offers a kitchen and seating for
about 200 people, and is available for rental. ChesleyPark (the "mini park"),
hosts a number of municipal outdoor celebrations, and features a gazebo, picnic
tables, open areas and a ¼ mile-walking trail. Hacienda Field has a playground
area as well as several multi-purpose fields, which are used by various
softball teams and the Bellville Soccer League. SensActivityCenter
features the SensCenter
building, used as a community center during the daytime on Mon-Thurs and
available for rent late afternoon and evening on those days as well as on
Friday-Sunday. SensActivityCenter also features a small
playground area and offers a kitchen and tables and chairs to seat 60-75
people. Zieske Park features a 1/3 -mile walking trail, several covered picnic
tables, and a large playground area, which the Bellville Primary and
Intermediate Schools use for physical education and recess, and which is open
to the public at other times.
