Recreational facilities in Weatherford include Cherry Park Pool, Athletic Fields and Courts, Community Buildings, Pavilions and Chandor Gardens, and 9 parks (including 1 under construction). 3.5 acre Chandor Gardens features a 30-foot man-made waterfall and fountains and offers public and private tours. The parks collectively feature playgrounds, pavilions, multi-purpose fields (some lighted), basketball courts (some lighted), walking paths/trails and picnic areas. Weatherford's largest park, 150+ acre Cartwright Park, houses the Weatherford Soccer Association as well as adult softball leagues and features 30-acre Sunshine Lake, which offers a fishing pier and boat ramp. Cherry Park features 2 gazebos and will offer new decking, lighting, shade structures, landscaping and water play areas once renovations are complete, along with a remodeled bath house. Holland Lake Park/Girl Scout Camp houses two double log cabins built in the mid-1800, offers a half mile natural trail and fishing pond, and hosts the annual fishing event Texas Junior Anglers. Additions to Holland Lake Park will include adult softball fields, another pavilion, new restrooms, parking areas and concrete walking trails around the lake. Marshall Park features a sand volleyball court and renovations will include a spray ground, pavilion, concrete walking trails and opens space for games of all kinds. McGratton Park offers a lighted skate boarders area. Soldier Springs Park, designed as a natural area park, provides habitat for wild turkey. The park also hosts Weatherford Little League, and features tennis courts, and a marker recognizing the area as a campsite used by Confederate Soldiers. Love Street Park is currently under development and will feature fitness themed components including shaded playgrounds, spray ground, a ½ mile concrete walking/jogging path accompanied with adult fitness stations, lighted basketball court and 3.5 acres of irrigated open space for sports practice, as well as a large pond with fountain, a fishing dock and a bridge surrounded by a pavilion, picnic areas and large parking area. Cherry Park Pool, 302 W. Lee, which features shade structures, slides and lounge chairs, offers public swim and lap swim times (season pass or daily admission). Athletic programs include adult sports (softball, 4 on 4 flag football) and youth sports (Weatherford Little League Baseball/Softball, Weatherford Soccer Association, Weatherford Optimist Football, Weatherford Youth Football, Youth Basketball, Parker County Tennis Association). Recreational classes and programs include swim lessons, swim team, lifeguard class, outdoor adventure activities, arts and crafts, Blastball (T-ball), summer camp (Camp Einstein science/math camp), adult day trips, martial arts, dance and special events (Concert under the Stars, Movies in the Park, Dawg Daze). Class locations include Chandor Gardens (Tea Time programs) and Cherry Park, where most classes and activities are held. Events include First Monday Trade Days at the flea market, located on Santa Fe Drive.
