collectively feature picnic tables, grills, playgrounds, basketball courts and
sports practice fields (some with a backstop). ArlieWhitePark offers a small
shelter and its playground features a slide and rock climbing wall for
children. BreezyHillPark
houses a community center, and offers a lighted softball/baseball field with
concession area and restrooms. Terrell's largest park, 100 acre Ben Gill Park,
features 9 soccer fields, youth football field, restroom/concession buildings,
a softball/baseball complex with 4 lighted fields, a lighted high school
baseball field with press box, a large centrally located parking lot with a 261
car capacity, a large pavilion with stage, sink, restrooms, grills, picnic
tables, and fireplace, a protective covering system between fields, a 2.5 acre
lake, 4 sand volleyball courts, an Olympic-size swimming pool, 6 lighted tennis
courts, a 3/4 mile-6' wide hiking/biking/jogging trail, 4 practice fields-( 2
baseball, 2 softball) with backstop, several playground areas, a high school
football stadium, a gazebo, a historic railroad car, and apavilion. Terrell Municipal Swimming Pool
offers season passes for recreational swimming, family swim times, pool
reservation times and American Red Cross swim lessons. Youth sports/recreation
organizations include Terrell Athletic & Recreation Association (Baseball,
Softball & T-Ball), Terrell Youth Football League, Terrell Soccer
Association, Terrell Soccer, and Terrell YMCA, 105 N. Rockwall, 972-524-9622
(Youth Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Karate). Terrell YMCA
also offers adult sports leagues and activities (Softball, Tennis, Pick-Up
Basketball, Pilates, Yoga and Senior Silver Sneakers-aerobics).
Recreation facilities in Forney include a regional park
under construction by the end of 2007, which will feature Lighted Youth
Softball & Soccer Fields, Natural Area with Hike and Bike Trails, Family
Area, Large Picnic Pavilion, Splash Pad Water Park, and
