Recreation facilities in Burleson include Hidden Creek Sports Complex and 10 parks, which collectively feature playgrounds, picnic areas and barbecue grills. Hidden Creek Sports Complex, 295 Hidden Creek Parkway, which hosts the city’s annual Independence Day Fireworks Celebration, features lighted softball fields and full service concession stand. Chisenhall Park, 500 Chisenhall Park Lane, also houses city's outdoor swimming pool and community center, which includes a gym and meeting rooms, as well as exercise trails, wildflower area, nature area, outdoor stage and covered pavilion. Bartlett Park Sports Complex, 550 NW Summercrest, features lighted baseball and softball fields for adult and youth baseball and softball leagues, fishing pond and pier, walking/jogging trail and an in-line skating facility. Warren Park, 200 SW Johnson, offers lighted tennis courts, covered pavilion, outdoor basketball court and an in-line skating area. Oak Valley Park North, 804 Parkridge, offers a nature hiking trail, numerous oak trees and a location by Village Creek. Oak Valley Park South on Hidden Creek Parkway is currently undeveloped, with plans for it to feature practice soccer fields, nature area, outdoor learning opportunities and walking trails. Cedar Ridge Park, 716 Cumberland Dr, offers Stanley the Stegosaurus play equipment, swing sets and balance beams, with plans for the park to be part of a future large network of walking trails and landscaped tree islands. Community Skateboard Park, 380 N.W. Tarrant Ave, is a partnership between St. Matthew Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the City of Burleson, with the city maintaining the park, built on St. Matthew's property, and the church staffing and supervising the facility. Recreation programs/classes include Dance (Tap, Ballet, Jazz), Cheerleading, Tumbling, Martial Arts, Fitness, Internet Workshops (Telecommuting, Starting a Home-based Business), Sports Leagues (softball, volleyball, basketball) Summer Sports Camps, Summer Sports (Track, Softball), Hunter Education/Safety, Young Rembrandts Classes/Camps, Kindermusik and Swimming (Lessons & Recreational) at Burleson Municipal Pool. The Senior Center, l 216 SW Johnson Ave., offers programs every weekday (Bridge, Quilting, Line/Country & Western Dance, Crafts, Exercise, Table Games, AARP Blood Pressure Checks). Sports Associations in Burleson include Burleson Boys and Girls Clubs (youth football), Burleson Independent Soccer Association and Burleson Youth Association (youth baseball, softball, basketball, volleyball, Buddyball). Special events in Burleson throughout the year include Bunny Daze at Chisenhall Park, Cinco De Mayo, Summer Concert Series, Founder's Day Celebration and Parade of Lights and Tree Lighting at Old Town, Splash Day at Chisenhall Pool and Fourth of July Celebration at Hidden Creek Sports Complex.

Recreational facilities in Cleburne include Baseball/Peewee Football Complex, Don Moore Field and 10 parks, which collectively feature swimming pools, pavilions, picnic tables, benches, bleachers, restrooms, playgrounds, playground equipment (slides, swings, climbing areas, merry go rounds, see saws), athletic fields (baseball, football, softball), courts (tennis, basketball, volleyball) and boat docks. Buddy Stewart Park also uniquely features camp sites; Kirley Park uniquely offers a boat ramp. Cleburne Golf Links is the new 18-hole golf course, whose construction is expected starting mid-Sept. 2006, with an expected opening of Oct. 2007 at 2500 Country Club Rd, 817-641-4501. Cleburne's new 90-acre Youth Sports Complex features 7 baseball/softball, 20 soccer and 2 football fields. Local sports organizations include Cleburne Football, Cleburne Baseball and Cleburne Soccer.

The Alvarado Senior Citizen & Community Center offers various activities, such as bridge, fitness/exercise, and line dance during the week and provides its room, kitchen and dining room facilities to the community on a rental basis. Daytime on Wednesdays during the summer are open to teens for band practice, card/table games and refreshments.
