The Darien Park District's First Step Preschool is a comprehensive developmental program aimed at preparing your child socially, emotionally, physically and intellectually for Kindergarten. Our dedicated, caring staff consists of highly qualified teachers. Our teachers are trained in CPR and First Aid. Teachers undergo many hours of in-service training each year. We are licensed through the Department of Children and Family Services. Daily activities include free play, art activities, circle time, snack, learning activities, large motor activities and story time. Amenities include large, bright, colorful classrooms, a gymnasium, fitness room, an outdoor playground, a drop-off/pick-up system, field trips, monthly newsletter, parties and programs, graduation, an excellent curriculum, a fun and safe learning environment and much more!
