Established in 1971 by Kathryn Fouks, Acacia Academy offers a highly individualized, age appropriate curriculum, supplemented with field trips. Tutoring is available after-school and on Saturdays through the Achievement Center program, which starts with a series of tests to define a student's strengths and weaknesses. Early Achievement Centers, with locations on the main campus and in Joliet, provide preschool, Kindergarten and child care programs from 7 AM-6 PM Monday-Friday. School grounds include a 2 1/2 acre nature center, picnic & recreational areas and playground, and the building features a library and computer lab. Acacia Academy is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges & Schools (NCACS).
