Recreational facilities in Marshfield include 2 parks, a playground, 2 beaches and a street hockey/basketball complex. Both parks and the playground have picnic tables, swings, open field and a bike rack. Peter-Igo Park, at Marshall Ave & Dyke Rd, also features a lighted basketball court & two lighted tennis courts (open on summer nights and Saturday evenings through October). Tower Avenue Park, Colonial Rd & Tower Ave, also offers a Tee Ball Field, basketball court and merry-go-round. The street hockey/basketball complex offers 2 basketball courts and a street hockey rink. Marshfield Hills Playground, Old Main St at the Fire station, also features a 1/2 basketball court and a see saw. Both beaches are lifeguard supervised. Green Harbor Beach, Beach St & Bay Ave, can be reached by Beach Street extension via boardwalk. Rexhame Beach, Standish St off of Ocean St, offers a snack bar, bathrooms, basketball court, picnic tables and parking attendant. A surf chair (wheel chair) is available for individuals with mobility impairments.
Recreation programs in Marshfield include Marshfield Recreation Preschool, 14 Library Plaza, 781-837-8058, which operates during the school year for children ages 3-4 and an extended school day program for children in grades K-5, which meets at Governor Winslow and Martinson Elementary Schools (students from other schools are transported to the child care facility at14 Library Plaza or Martinson School). The department also offers Wrestling at Whidden's School of Fitness, 822 Webster St for boys ages 5-13, Girls Karate for ages 5-13 at the same location, Kids Night out on Fridays for ages 5-11 at the recreation child care center, Fencing for students age 10 & up and their parent(s) at Marshfield High School gym and several programs at Furnace Brook Middle School for students in grades 6-8: Volleyball for girls, Sewing/Knitting class, Strength & Conditioning and Babysitting Training. An after-school sports program for grades 3-5 meets at Eames Way & Martinson Schools and offers large group activities such as kickball, soccer, capture the flag and scooter ball. Tennis classes for children in grades 1-5 is offered at Peter-Igo Park on Saturday mornings. Evening youth sports programs include summer basketball (grades 3-12), basketball skills clinic (grades 1-2) and summer street hockey (grades 1-12). Adult sports programs include winter tennis league, CPR/First Aid (age 16 & up), spring Cardio tennis, yoga (age 16 & up) and co-ed volleyball. Archery class is offered for ages 8 & up at Coast Guard Hill and a Horseback Riding clinic meets at Furnace Brook Farm, 253 Sandy Hill Dr. Various trips and excursions are also offered throughout the year.

The six sites collectively offer picnicking, canoeing, fishing, nature study, dog walking, hunting, hiking, bird watching, cross country skiing, ice skating, camping, field activities and cross country skiing. 35-acre Carver's Pond and 75-acre Stiles & Hart Conservation Area host community events. Iron Works Park, now a National Historic Site, is available for Historic tours. 32-acre Tuckerwood Conservation Area offers evening events. 55-acre Wyman Meadow Conservation Area lends itself to horseback riding, mountain biking, and sledding. Abington High School offers a field hockey/lacrosse field. The 12.52 acre Early Childhood Center Fields offer a snack bar/restroom facility. Laidler Field includes a small building undergoing renovation by the town Boy Scouts, which will then be used for Boy Scout meetings and other functions. Plymouth Street Playfield features a utility building, concession stand and parking lot. Griffins Dairy Property facilitates open space uses, and hosts special events. 44 acre Strawberry Valley Golf Course is a nine-hole golf course open to the public that is also used for cross country skiing and sledding in the winter. 607 acre Ames Nowell State Park, owned and operated by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Management. Ames Nowell is approximately 607 acres in size facilitates hiking, horseback/bike riding, fishing, and cross country skiing. Recreation programs/activities in Abington include recreational (non-competitive) youth basketball for grades 1-8, summer swim lessons and the Eager Beaver Summer Camp for grades 1-6, featuring a Theme for each Session, Swimming, Arts and Crafts, Free Swim Period, Organized Sports & Activities, Cookout, Fun Day and Field Trips (one per session may be offered) and before- & after-camp care (extra fee).
