Recreation facilities in Walton County include 18 parks (Ag Center, Central Walton/Nowell Gym, Kidd, Booth, Stephens, Bold Springs, Gratis, Rock Gym, Meridian, Mathews, West Walton, Felker, Coker, Criswell, Gratis, Hammond, Pilot. Rabbit Farm, South Walton) that collectively feature baseball/softball fields, soccer fields, football fields, basketball courts, pavilions, playgrounds, fishing and fitness/walking trails. Meridian Park also features an outdoor classroom. Ag Center Park houses an activity/meeting building and features an outdoor horse riding ring with review stand. Future plans are for activity buildings in Felker and West Walton Parks. Hammond Park features tennis courts. Nowell Recreation Gym, 201 W Spring St in Monroe, offers Senior Fitness programs and Yoga/Pilates classes; West Walton Park in Loganville hosts a Boot Camp for men & women, as does the Old Monroe High School track in Monroe (session for women only). Future plans are for gyms at Felker and West Walton Parks (with construction of a new indoor gym in Meridian Park started in April 2008). Walton Waves Swim & Tennis Center is privately owned and offers swim lessons, youth swim team and pool/tennis memberships. Special events include the annual Fishing Derby. Parks are located in Gratis, Bold Springs, Loganville, Social Circle, and Monroe.

Recreation facilities in Social Circle include ball fields and a multi-purpose recreation building that houses a recently developed recreation program. County facilities located in Social Circle include Booth (under construction), South Walton and Stephens Parks. 45.1 acre South Walton Park, 550 Fairplay Rd, is mainly a youth sports complex for baseball/softball, football/cheerleading, basketball and soccer, and also features playground areas and picnic shelters, with future plans for a nature/walking trail and tennis courts. Stephens Park, 725 Annie P. Henderson, offers a baseball field, covered picnic pavilion, barbecue pit and restroom/concession area.
