Recreation Facilities in Rockdale County, all located in Conyers, include Black Shoals Park & Randy Poynter Lake on Black Shoals Road; First Shady Grove Park on Old Covington Road; Grimes Street Park, 1792 Grimes Street in Milstead Village; Milstead Pool on Main Street in Milstead Village; Johnson Park 1791 Ebenezer Road; Lakeview Estates Park in Lakeview Estates; Pine Log Park, 1451 Pine Log Road; Richardson Park on Union Church Road; Parker Road Facility, 1400 Parker Rd; JP Carr Gym, 986 Hardin Street; South Rockdale Community Park, 3909 E Fairview Road; C.E. Recreation programs include basketball, aquatic classes, recreational swimming, exercise classes, adult softball, tennis, and after school care and summer day camps at Johnson Park Recreation Center. City Parks include Bonner, Eastview, Pleasant Circle, South Hicks Circle, Veal Street, and Center Point Parks, Lewis-Vaughn Botanical Garden/Olde Town Conyers Pavilion and Georgia International Horse Park, which features a stadium/amphitheater, exhibition center, covered arena, stable complex, pavilions, banquet facilities, resort hotel, Cherokee Run Golf Course, and Big Haynes Creek Nature Center; and hosts polo matches, fairs, festivals, corporate outings, bike events, hot air balloon races and other gatherings. A 5-acre Arboretum, maintained by volunteer group Rockdale County Master Gardeners also lies on the grounds of GIHP.
