Paulding County Public Schools operates 27 schools covering grades PK-12, which serve 25,523 students in the communities of Dallas, Douglasville, Hiram, Powder Springs, Temple and Villa Rica, and any unincorporated areas. 17 schools are elementary level (PK-5), 6 are middle schools (6-8) and 4 are high schools (9-12). Student/teacher ratio is 15:1 (district-wide). The district employs 1,746 classroom teachers, 138 support personnel, and 147 administrators. 53% of teachers have a Bachelors Degree only, 37% have a Masters Degree. Per Pupil cost is $6,970. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented and Special Needs students. 1% of students are enrolled in the English to Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) program, 9.9% receive Special Education services, 4.3% are enrolled in Gifted Education programs. Support services for all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and counseling. The district offers an after school care program (ASP), held at many of the district's elementary schools.
