Henry County Public Schools operates 39 schools covering grades PK-12, which serve 37,325 students in the communities of Hampton, Locust Grove, McDonough, and Stockbridge, and any unincorporated areas. 22 schools are elementary level (PK-3, PK-5, K-5, 3-5), 8 are middle schools (6-8) and 7 are high schools (9-11, 9-12). Patrick Henry High School serves grades 6-12. Timber Ridge Elementary School encompasses grades K-12. Student/teacher ratio is 15:1 (district-wide). The district employs 2,465 classroom teachers, 249 support personnel, and 153 administrators. 44% of teachers have a Bachelors Degree only, 44% have a Masters Degree. Per Pupil cost is $6,887. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented and Special Needs students. 1.5% of students are enrolled in the English to Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) program, 12.2% receive Special Education services, 6.8% are enrolled in Gifted Education programs. Support services for all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and counseling. The district offers an after school enrichment/child care program for elementary school age students.
