Coweta County Public Schools operates 27 schools covering grades PK-12, which serve 21,352 students in the communities of Grantville, Moreland, Newnan, Senoia and Sharpsburg, and any unincorporated areas. 17 schools are elementary level (PK-5), 5 are middle schools (6-8) and 3 are high schools (9-12). Lee Middle School and Welch Elementary School each encompass grades K-12. Student/teacher ratio is 14:1 (district-wide). The district employs 1,438 classroom teachers, 117 support personnel, and 89 administrators. 48% of teachers have a Bachelors Degree only, 42% have a Masters Degree. Per Pupil cost is $7,105. A variety of programs, services, and personnel are provided for Limited English Speaking (LEP), Gifted & Talented and Special Needs students. 1.4% of students are enrolled in the English to Speakers of other Languages (ESOL) program, 12.4% receive Special Education services, 8.8% are enrolled in Gifted Education programs. Support services for all students, as needed, include speech/language, tutoring and counseling.
