Recreation
Recreational facilities in Auburn include the Recreational
Field on Mary Carter Road, behind the Durdens Plant,
which features a lighted youth baseball diamond; R.H. Burel
Park, on 4th Ave. in the downtown area, noted for its bright red caboose,

Winder Community Center, located next to the Veterans' Memorial Park and the Community Picnic Pavilion, features facilities that can accommodate events such as wedding receptions, business meetings, banquets, conferences and family reunions, including a Boardroom that seats 25 guests, a Conference Room with a capacity of 75, a Ballroom that can accommodate 300 and a kitchen with a commercial refrigerator and food warmer. The Picnic Pavilion features covered seating with picnic tables, a large barbecue pit, small grills, outdoor kitchen facilities and bathroom facilities, as well as an uncovered picnic table with a small grill and four picnic tables under a grove of nearby oak trees. Barrow County recreational facilities include Pine Shore Park Pool at 451 N 5th Ave, athletic fields (baseball, softball, football), track, disc golf course, and volleyball courts. Recreation programs include youth sports (baseball, fast pitch softball, cross country, track & field, cheerleading, baton twirling, football), adult sports (softball, volleyball, dodge ball, flag football), swimming, karate, and summer day camp (ages 6-12, Mid-June to Mid-August, 7:30-6:00 M-F, $85 weekly), activities include arts & crafts, swimming, guest speakers and field trips. Special interest/sports camps, such as Disc Golf Camp (age 9 & up) are also offered.

Statham
Recreation
Recreational facilities in Statham include 2 recreation areas (Park Street, Dooley Town Road), Park Street Recreation Area features a concession stand, walking trails, playground, lighted pavilion/grills/picnic tables, restrooms, water fountains, nature trail (which when complete will connect to the Georgia Club and to downtown), basketball courts and lighted baseball fields (Park Street field can also support soccer games). Dooley Town Road Recreation Area is under construction, with the same features planned as for Park Street Recreation Area, along with long-range plans for an outdoor theater and paving of the parking area. Carl Hale Trail supports use as a golf cart path. Statham Community Center, 336 Jefferson St, Walter Hillman Community Building on Park Street and a 3rd Community Building in Furr Lane Park (off Dooley Town Road) are all available for rental. Statham Little League and Statham Dixie Boys Baseball both sponsor baseball programs, Cub Scouts and Brownie Scouts packs/troupes are active as well.
